Born in Dayton, Ohio. Moved five times, mainly in the midwest, before reaching fifth grade, at which time my family moved to Atlanta. I came of age in the south.
I started guitar lessons at age 12. I first played in a band at 14, at which time our trio took the bus north from Atlanta to Hendersonville, NC, where we played at the drummer's cousin's high school spring dance.
I think I was partly born in Liverpool.
Inspirations range from Beatles (in biggest picture, begins and ends there) and other British invasion forces (especially The Who, and the Mick Taylor-era Rolling Stones); and, given the aforementioned, how could The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Marshall Tucker not be major influences? Special sing-out to Atlanta Rhythm Section: southern by birth and I think they also had Liverpool genes.
Many other genre/artist influences from A to Z
I write songs about eras and errors...of passage from budding minority age to the first flicker from touching a contoured beauty's hands at the matinee, through many seasons since, and now approaching the grand autumn of life, surely with lessons to learn and remembering to never lose childlike wonder...of offspring and orbits...of complete cooperation with the unavoidable, and time after time-earned trust...of movement on rolling hills and valleys, seen from winding Roads, which always lead me back to the Abbey and/or thirty-six north latitude, eighty west, ever as way stations to reaching the ocean's heart, from which we all emerged...I experience old waves, new waves, and strive to ride currents in the hopes of serving the heavenly stars…
Be. Here. Now.
Well...allowing myself a little peek into the future ;-)
Slowly and surely working towards goal of landing a song in a movie or TV show (and wouldn't turn down a commercial, if it were a mutually good "fit" :-) )
